Anpha Capital Launches Two New Funds, Changes Name

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, August 16, 2007 - Anpha Capital, formerly Lion Capital, a locally licensed fund management company based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has launched two new investment funds to invest into Vietnam. In addition, the company has changed its name from Lion Capital to Anpha Capital to avoid confusion with funds with similar name around the world.

Anpha Capital currently raising capital for two debut funds: Vietnam Equity Holding (VEH) and Vietnam Property Holding (VPH).  Both funds have a target size of 100 million euros and the company plans to list them on a European stock exchange.

The Vietnam Equity Holding (VEH) fund will invest in equitizations of state-owned-enterprises (SOEs) over-the-counter securities (OTC), and private equity.  The company will also invest in listed shares, subject to favorable condition of the Vietnamese Stock Market.  “Over valuation is certainly a concern for foreign investors, but in Vietnam, the OTC and private equity space are untapped by most foreign investors, with greater values and less competition than the listed market.  Our deal flow sourcing is superior as this is one of the few funds with a domestic license and managed by Vietnamese local senior management” says Louis Nguyen. The local investment license, which few exists in Vietnam, allows Anpha Capital to invest with out foreign ownership limitations and restrictions and is a major competitive advantage over all foreign funds in Vietnam.

The Vietnam Property Holding (VPH) fund will primarily focus on real estate including retail, office, hotel, residential sectors, infrastructure, and industrial parks. “Vietnam’s property market is booming, following the footsteps of other Asian markets with tremendous opportunities across sectors” says Desmond Lin, Managing Director, “Volume and price of supplies have increased exponentially in the last three years and the market still can not meet current and forecasted demand.  Even as more foreign funds are coming in, our local positioning and ability to capture proprietary deal flow will be the differentiator and competitive advantages”.
