Louis Nguyen is the Chairman and CEO of Saigon Asset Management Corporation (SAM) and has been an active investor in Vietnam since 2003. Prior to founding SAM in 2007, Mr. Nguyen was Managing Director at VinaCapital where he headed the DFJ Capital fund and Corporate Finance. Prior to joining VinaCapital, he was Founding General Partner of IDG Ventures Vietnam, a $100 million venture capital fund. Prior to IDG, Mr. Nguyen was actively working in the U.S. as Vice President at Intelligent Capital, an M&A firm based in San Francisco, California. Prior to that, he was Partner at Osprey Ventures, a US$100 million venture capital fund based in Menlo Park, California. Mr. Nguyen has extensive operating experience as a Manufacturing Division Controller at NEC Computer Systems in Sacramento, California, and Apple Computer in Cupertino, California. Prior to that, he served as an auditor with KPMG in Mountain View, California. He is the Chairman of Saigon Asset Management Foundation, a U.S. 501c3 nonprofit organization which provides education scholarships to the underprivileged in Vietnam. Mr. Nguyen received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from San Jose State University, California. He is fluent in English and Vietnamese.

Michael Kokalari, CFA has 15 years experience running multi billion dollar credit, equity and fixed income derivatives portfolios for Credit Suisse First Boston, Paribas, JP Morgan Chase, Lehman Brothers and WestLB in London, Tokyo and Frankfurt. Mr Kokalari has been in Vietnam for 2 years where he has been a senior level advisor for Vietfund Management (VFM), a joint venture between Dragon Capital and Sacombank. His work with VFM primarily involved setting up the Vietnam Active Fund (VFA), Vietnam’s first publicly listed equity fund managed entirely using quantitative techniques. He is the co-author of the CFA guide to Credit Derivatives, he has founded 2 computer software companies, and he is a part-time lecturer in the Vietnam National University, Department of Mathematics in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Kokalari holds master’s degrees in business, engineering and mathematics from Stanford University and additional graduate level training in Mathematics and Economics at Harvard and the London School of Economics. He is fluent in English and Japanese

Henrik Hien Vu has over 10 years of on-the-ground experience in real estate in Vietnam including development, consultancy, research, and valuation. Prior to joining Saigon Asset Management, Mr. Vu was a Managing Director at CitiPlus Corporation; one of the leading local property consultants providing a full range of real estate services from project marketing, valuation and research, development consultancy, to property management services for high-profile local and multinational clients in Vietnam. Prior to CitiPlus, Mr. Vu was at CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) where he was instrumental in the setting up of the Corporate Services and Investment Properties Divisions in Vietnam. Prior to CBRE, Mr. Vu was a Client Manager with Calyon Corporate & Investment Bank where he was in charge of financial analysis, project-based financing, loan appraisal, and marketing of the bank’s facilities and services to multinational clients. Mr. Vu graduated from University of Greenwich (London) with a Master Degree in Real Estate Development and Investment. He is a frequent lecturer at related professional courses conducted by the Open University, Vietnam. He is fluent in English and Vietnamese.

Trung Luong has over ten years of experience in legal practice related to investment and corporate matters and three years of general and investment compliance. Prior to joining SAM, Mr. Luong was Legal Counsel and Compliance Officer at Manulife (Vietnam), a life insurance and asset management branch of Manulife Financial. Prior to Manulife, Mr. Luong was Legal Counsel of British American Tobacco. He also had four years working as an attorney-at-law in two leading local law firms, InvestConsult Group and Thang & Associates. Mr. Luong received a Bachelor of Law from Hanoi Law School (Vietnam) and Graduate Diploma in Law from College of Law (of England & Wales). He is fluent in English and Vietnamese
